Q: WHY SHOULD I TRUST SHARPEN BY MAIL WITH MY EXPENSIVE SCISSORS?

 A: Sharpen By Mail is a division of Shear Precision® which has been sharpening since 2008 and is rated an A+ by the Better Business Bureau.  All technicians are NBTSG certified Master Sharpeners.

Q: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY SCISSORS BACK (AKA WHAT IS THE TURN AROUND TIME)?

  A: That depends on the workload when we receive the scissors but our goal is to have the scissors back in the mail to you within 2 working days after we receive them.  It normally does not take that long but there have been a couple of instances during peak times when we had to work a weekend to get stuff out on time. Clipper blades can take a day or two longer depending on the quantity.  Sending them to us for sharpening will probably be faster than waiting for a mobile sharpening service to show up. 

Q: HOW DO YOU SHIP THEM BACK?

  A: Return shipping is by United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail.  Additional insurance is also purchased from USPS to cover the estimated value of the scissors.  USPS may require a signature for delivery on high value items that have been insured.

  • Standard Non-Honed Beauty, Barber, Grooming Scissors (AKA Bevel / German Style) - $15.00

Q: HOW SHOULD I PACKAGE MY ITEMS TO SEND THEM TO YOU?

  A: We STRONGLY recommend that the scissors and blades be wrapped and protected by padding and placed in a BOX for shipment.  Ensure that all sides of the box are secure to prevent the scissors from coming out.  We also recommend that the package be insured for the full replacement value of the scissors.  All three of the major shipping companies (USPS, FedEx, and UPS) do a good job of delivering packages to our address but some are more expensive than others. 

Q: HOW DO I PAY FOR THE SHARPENING?

  A: We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and personal or business checks.  If you have any concerns about providing payment through the mail simply add a note with your scissors and we would be happy to call you for payment information over the phone or send you a PayPal invoice via email.  Payment must be received in full before the scissors are returned.
